What the Web Maker mobile app collects, how it's stored, and how to delete your account.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information the Web Maker mobile app (the "app") collects, why, how it is stored and protected, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have. Web Maker is provided by United Tabs ("we", "us"), which is responsible for the personal information described here. This policy applies to the app only. It is separate from the general privacy policy for UnitedTabs's consulting website, which you can find here.
1. Summary
- You sign in with your email address and a one-time code. There is no password.
- Your website projects live on your device. The text and layout are also backed up to our servers so you can restore them. Photos never leave your device.
- We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use advertising or analytics SDKs in the app.
- You can delete a single project, or your whole account and its data, at any time, in the app or by email.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only what the app needs to work:
- Email address — collected when you sign in, and used to send you a 6-digit verification code. Required: it is your account identifier.
- Account ID — created automatically when your account is created. Required.
- Website project content (page names, headings, text, section layout, SEO fields, menu and theme choices) — backed up automatically as you edit a project while signed in. Required for backup and restore.
- One-time onboarding answer — the kind of website you are building (for example "blog" or "online store") and, if you choose "online store", your platform. Asked once after your first sign-in. Required to finish first-time setup.
- Name, phone number, website address and message — collected only if you submit a "Hire a Developer" or contact request. Optional: name and message are needed for that request; phone and website are optional.
- Photos you add to your site — chosen from your photo library when you tap to add an image. They stay on your device and are not sent to us. Optional.
We do not collect your location, contacts, calendar, microphone or camera recordings, financial or payment information, health information, advertising ID, or device identifiers. The app contains no advertising or analytics SDK.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide the app — to verify that you are the person signing in (the one-time code) and to keep you signed in.
- To back up and restore your projects — this is the only reason your project content is stored on our servers. It is not used to market to you or generate leads.
- To respond to your requests — if you submit a "Hire a Developer" or contact request, we use the details you give to reply and, if you wish, provide a quote. Signing up on its own does not add you to any marketing or outreach list; that only happens if you submit one of these requests yourself.
- To tailor in-app suggestions — your onboarding answer is used to choose which tips and offers of help (including our optional "Hire a Developer" service) we show you inside the app. It is not shared with any third party or used for advertising outside the app.
- To keep the service secure and reliable — for example, blocking disposable email addresses, rate-limiting sign-in attempts, and troubleshooting errors.
We will never sell your personal information.
4. Legal Bases (EEA / UK users)
Where data-protection law such as the GDPR applies, we rely on: contract (providing the app you asked to use — sign-in and project backup); consent (optional details you choose to send us, and notification permission); and legitimate interests (keeping the service secure, preventing abuse, and suggesting our own services inside the app). You can object to the latter at any time by contacting us.
5. Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. We share it only:
- with service providers who help us run the service on our behalf and may only use your data for that purpose — for example our hosting and email-delivery provider, which delivers your sign-in code;
- when required by law, or to protect our rights, users, or the security of the service; and
- as part of a business transfer such as a merger or sale, in which case this policy would continue to apply to your data.
6. Previews and Exported Websites
The in-app preview, and any website you export, may load third-party resources such as sample images, fonts (for example Google Fonts), and embedded videos (for example YouTube or Vimeo) from those providers' servers. When that happens, the provider receives standard technical information such as your IP address, as with any website. We do not send your account information to them. If you publish an exported site, you are responsible for the third-party content it loads and for your own site's privacy practices.
7. Data Storage & Security
- All communication between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS).
- Your sign-in session token is stored in your device's encrypted secure storage (Android Keystore), not as plain text.
- Project text and layout are stored on our servers, linked to your account, and are accessible only when you are signed in to that account and to authorized personnel where needed to operate or support the service.
- No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and limit access to it.
8. How Long We Keep Your Data
- Email address and account ID: until you delete your account.
- Sign-in session: until you sign out or delete your account.
- One-time sign-in codes: codes expire after 10 minutes; used and expired code records are removed when you delete your account.
- Project backups (text and layout): until you delete that project or your account.
- Onboarding answer: until you delete your account.
- Hire and contact requests: until you delete your account, or ask us to delete them.
- Technical error logs: kept only for a limited period for troubleshooting.
- Do-not-contact entry (your email address only): until you ask us to remove it — see section 10.
Photos and the on-device copy of your projects are stored only on your device and are removed when you delete the project or uninstall the app.
9. Permissions & Notifications
The app asks for device permissions only when a feature needs them, never in advance:
- Photo library: requested only when you tap "Choose Image" while editing your site. If you decline, the app simply does not add an image.
- Notifications: requested the first time it is relevant. With your permission, the app can show occasional tips and reminders about using Web Maker, at most one a day. These are generated entirely on your device — they are not sent from our servers and involve no personal data. You can turn them off at any time in your device settings.
The app does not request camera, microphone, contacts, calendar, location, or all-files storage access.
10. Your Rights, Choices & Account Deletion
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict the use of your personal information, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To use any of these rights, email us (section 14) from the address you signed up with. We will respond within 30 days. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.
Deleting data without deleting your account: in the app, open Your Projects, choose a project and tap Delete. This removes that project from your device and from our servers together. Your account and other projects are unaffected.
Deleting your account and all associated data:
- In the app: open Web Maker → tap your account icon on the home screen → Delete Account. This permanently deletes your account, sign-in sessions, one-time codes, onboarding answer, every project backup, and any hire or contact requests tied to your email address.
- By email: if you no longer have the app installed, email khushipatel7079@gmail.com from the address you signed up with and ask us to delete your account. We will confirm the deletion within 30 days.
- Web page: these steps, and exactly what is deleted and kept, are also at unitedtabs.com/webmaker/delete-account.
The one thing we keep after deletion is your email address alone, on a separate do-not-contact list with no name, no request history, and nothing else attached. Its only purpose is to make sure we never email you again and never re-add you as a lead if you sign up again. You can ask us to remove it too by contacting us.
Uninstalling the app only removes the copies on your device. If you signed in at least once, the server backup of your projects remains until you delete the project, delete your account, or ask us to.
11. International Data Transfers
Our servers and service providers may be located in a country different from yours. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards so that your information receives a comparable level of protection.
12. Children's Privacy
Web Maker is intended for adults aged 18 and over and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 (or the higher minimum age in your country). If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it was last revised. If we make a material change, we will notify you in the app or by other appropriate means before it takes effect.
